Gun Metal Gray D6

Note: You will see anodizing marks on all our products. Anodizing is a “Conversion Coating” and is very different than painting or other metal coating. While paints and plating sit on top of the surface of the aluminum, anodizing converts the outer layer of aluminum to aluminum oxide, so the coating is fully integrated with the aluminum substrate. This is why anodizing doesn’t chip or flake like paint- it is completely integral with the underlying metal.
Understanding Racking and Rack Marks
Because anodizing involves running an electric current through the part to be anodized, parts must be gripped by conductive racks or wires. Where these racks or wires contact the part, there will be slight unanodized marks or “contact points” left on the surface of edges of the parts.
I really like the heft of these dice! Rolling a regular plastic or resin d6 after rolling this for a while just feels overly light and unsatisfying. On my gaming mat it looks like they're not rolling much, but after many tests I was unable to intentionally influence the results of the roll, so I'm satisfied that it's sufficiently random for my needs. The blemishes (aka the non-colored spots) from the anodizing process vary in how egregious they are to me. One of my dice has a blemish on the 1-pip face, which really stands out and bothers me, but the other die has the blemishes elsewhere and I barely notice them when using it. A little more consistent and tactical placement of the anodizing spots would make me more confident in future purchases. Still, overall I really do like these dice!
